DrupalCon Boston 2008 - Final Post

After two very exciting days of blogging on Monday and Tuesday, everything slowed down a bit for me here on Wednesday and Thursday. There are several reasons for this, some good and some bad.

  1. I'm exhausted, so I haven't been as excited to blog these last two days.
  2. I've had some bad luck picking sessions, including a few that were just flat out boring and poorly done.
  3. I've spent more time in the break room and the birds of a feather sessions, just chatting with people and trying to learn and network. Highlight: Bumping into Andrew "Drewish" Morton just as I was starting to email him. We discussed making a Drupal variant of the Wordpress Photo Dropper Plugin, which I'm hoping to start working on by the end of the month.
  4. The good sessions that I've been to have been very code intensive and not of a lot of interest to non-Drupallers.
  5. My girlfriend is coming to visit me in Boston tonight, and I've been a bit distracted making plans
  6. I've been working instead of blogging.

Anyway. There are a few hours of the conference left, but I'm skipping out now to take a nap before I head to the airport to meet my lady. I'll be missing the closing plenary, which is disappointing, but I'm sure it will be online, as will be the final podcast. I'm also disappointed that I won't be able to go to the code sprint tomorrow, as that would be a really good way for me to get up to speed with some core contributions, but I just don't have the time or energy.

Thanks for everything, DrupalCon! It was a great week, despite my mopey tone today.

* Update: Fate is on my side... the podcast has been canceled due to illness, so I'm missing much less by not staying today.

Wish ChipIn.com had a way to tally offline payments. My Scrub fund ( http://bit.ly/aItR3p ) would be at 35% instead of 8%, thx to IRL gifts.
